Alice Liddell usually known by her married name Hargreaves. Sometime in July 1862 as a ten-year-old, she begged her uncle for a tale, and then, enthralled, bugged him to write it down for her and her sisters.

Charles Dodgson, better known as Lewis Carroll, decided it could be a worthy commercial venture. ‘Alice’s Adventures Underground’ became ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ in 1865.

We don’t usually ask for tales now, do we?
